The iLocate(tm)(tm) Server middleware is responsible for four core functionalities:
• Air-to-air communication and protocol
• System components synchronization
• Location calculation
• Third-party application interfacing and mediation
The server middleware consists of a number of services designed to run on one single server hardware or in a distributed architecture across a number of servers, enabling the scalability and high availability of the system’s features.
The iLocate(tm)(tm) services are built to operate in a Microsoft Windows Advanced Server environment but will function on a simple Windows XP operating system as well.
The iLocate(tm)(tm) system architecture includes an application interface layer (API) to support and manage communication with a third-party software module for system management, control, and data exchange in real time. System-client interfacing is enabled using an open standard real-time application protocol interface (API), based on XML technology, over TCP/IP.
The iLocate(tm)(tm) API fully supports all system functionalities, including commands to tags, setting up tag telemetry and control channels, and storing or retrieving data from tags. APIs are easy to use and flexible, allowing quick application development, and are INCITS-T20 compatible |
